We are building a digital asset management system (DAMS) to centralize research data, which is currently scattered across various departments and storage methods. Net new process. Primary Duties: * Execute asset ingestion workflows for multiple departments, including preparing file inventories, transforming and validating metadata, and transferring content via DAMS GUI, FTP, scripting, or other tools. * Work with internal departments to review, clean, and structure legacy metadata for ingestion; identify and resolve inconsistencies or gaps in required fields. * Support the alignment of departmental metadata with institutional schema through mapping, transformation, and templating workflows. * Provide hands-on support to internal users during onboarding and ingestion phases; act as first-line support for metadata entry, tagging, and ingestion troubleshooting. * Surface ingestion-related issues (e.g., permissions, metadata limitations, content errors) to DAMS Manager and escalate technical needs appropriately. * Track and report progress against ingestion schedules and maintain accurate documentation of workflows, process improvements, and asset status. * Coordinate with DAMS Manager to ensure ingestion work aligns with larger DAMS governance, standards, and strategic roadmap. Technical Requirements and Knowledge: *Proven experience managing digital file migrations, metadata clean-up, and asset ingestion workflows across complex file systems and departments. *Strong familiarity with metadata standards; experience with metadata mapping and transformation tools (e.g., Python/R or other scripting, Openrefine, etc.) *Experience with Digital Asset Management Systems, FTP utilities, and cloud file systems. *Ability to follow and apply metadata schemas, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies set by governance. *Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders *Highly organized, strategic, and capable of managing multiple simultaneous ingestion projects in coordination with staff. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
