Job Overview

Manage the Project Management Department. Ensure the department performs in a manner which supports best practices, financial objectives, a professional corporate image and corporate growth.

A Day In The Life

Manage the Project Management staff responsible for:



  • Ensuring project coordination.
  • Correct project order entry and compliance.
  • Project post order coordination.
  • Day to day project management within corporate rules and guidelines.
  • Manage high profile projects with corporate exposure, generally with a value in excess of $500,000 which require an increased level of coordination and management.


Operate the department on a day-to-day basis to:



  • Ensure that Project Managers are monitoring and documenting the status of all projects assigned to ensure conformance to Hubbell/GAI-Tronics departmental and corporate policies, procedures and practices
  • Support planned and unplanned project priorities as they present themselves and impact the corporate goals
  • Support implementation of support services and solution presentation practices as they are developed and modified
  • Review reports and database resources to ensure they are accurate and current
  • Meet with Project Managers on a regular basis to review project statuses.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to GAI-Tronics' Management staff as it relates to business objectives such as revenue attainment, forecasting.


Plan and monitor the group resources to ensure that:



  • Workload is distributed in a manner that supports timely fulfillment of responsibilities to customers, and other departments.
  • Staff levels and skill sets are congruent with workload and content.
  • Employee performance is continually monitored, and periodically evaluated so as to encourage positive performance and to address areas requiring improvement.
  • Employees are encouraged to establish career path objectives through increased scope of expertise and responsibilities.
  • Staff performs tasks according to Hubbell/GAI-Tronics and department codes of quality and conduct.


Support the Sales & Marketing VP by:



  • Updating sales group with pertinent project related information.
  • Supplying detailed project margin analysis and insight.
  • Performing annual budget planning.
  • Reporting group status.
  • Performing special assignments and/or temporary duties requiring the skills described.
  • Support and assist the Tech Sales and Sales groups with customer specification review, risk assessment and customer negotiations.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of five year's experience in a Project Management position.
  • Minimum of five year's related commercial experience.
  • Customer facing/negotiating experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • PMP certification preferred.
