Description

Mazak Corporation is looking for a High Accuracy Inspector to join the Quality Control department.You will be responsible for performing calibration, verification, and adjustments of gauges and measurement equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with ISO standards. You will maintain complete records, communicate with production and quality teams, and support investigations when equipment issues arise. By safeguarding measurement integrity, you play a key role in maintaining product quality, customer confidence, and continuous improvement within the plant. Also evaluates purchased and manufactured goods to ensure it meets the published quality standards.

Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
* Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
* Perform calibration, verification, and adjustments on gauges, fixtures, and measurement equipment in accordance with ISO and customer standards
* Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation to ensure traceability and compliance
* Maintain ISO calibration standards for all gauges
* Monitor calibration schedules to ensure all gauges and equipment are serviced on time
* Identify out-of-tolerance equipment, quarantine as required, and notify responsible departments
* Assist in monthly gauge collections from production associates
* Operate and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM's) to verify part dimensions and support calibration or inspection requirements
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending updates to calibration methods and processes
* Ensure calibration equipment and environment are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to address measurement-related issues
* Provide training or guidance to operators and technicians on proper gauge handling and care
* Receiving Inspection of incoming goods
* Inspection of customer required items

Education/Certification:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Technical School is preferred

Skills:
* Problem-Solving Skills: Calibration issues and out-of-tolerance conditions require quick troubleshooting to minimize disruption to production and ensure measurement accuracy.
* Attention to Detail: Precision is critical; even the smallest oversight in calibration can lead to product defects, nonconformance, or customer dissatisfaction.
* Time Management Skills: Calibration schedules must be maintained without delays, requiring effective prioritization of tasks to keep equipment available for production.
* Computer Skills: Proficiency with calibration management software, Microsoft Office, and database systems to document results, track calibration intervals, and generate reports.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of measurement principles, metrology, gauges, fixtures, and calibration equipment to perform accurate and reliable work.
* Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate calibration results, equipment status, and technical issues with production, engineering, and quality teams.
* Analytical Skills: Skilled in reviewing calibration data, identifying trends, and supporting root-cause analysis to improve processes and prevent recurring issues.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities change
