We are seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven Physician Medical Director to lead our on-site Advanced Primary Care practice. This role combines clinical excellence with strategic leadership, delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care while shaping care models that improve outcomes, access, and patient experience.

As a practicing physician leader, the Medical Director will provide high-quality primary care services while guiding clinical operations, mentoring providers, and driving innovation in advanced care delivery. This is a unique opportunity to influence population health, integrate preventive and chronic care management, and lead a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative, onsite setting.

In this role, you will work as a team with two other clinicians, an operations manager, several medical assistants, a dietician, and an internal physical therapist. You will also participate in wellness events as well as assess factors that impact patient health. This role is a truly unique experience focusing on leadership, patient well-being, and clinical care.

Responsibilities

    Spends 100% of time in the onsite clinic providing direct patient care, leading by example, and creating an exceptional patient experience
  • Ensures day-to-day execution of Concentra's clinical model, collaborating with members of the healthcare team to drive optimal clinical outcomes
  • Accountable for monitoring, understanding, and effecting key onsite clinic metrics that relate to quality outcomes of Advanced Primary Care - chronic condition management, gaps in care, preventive health and age appropriate screenings, vaccinations, SDOH, wellness initiatives, clinic utilization and patient satisfaction of Occupational Medicine - timely return to work measures after an injury on the job, case duration, lost time, work duty status, reduction in work-related illnesses and improved functional capacity.
  • Manages staff clinicians and support staff and complies with APC supervisory requirements
  • Creates a professional and collaborative working environment with full colleague participation that promotes teamwork, quality, exceptional outcomes, and patient and colleague safety and engagement
  • Works with DMO and onsite leadership to identify and implement changes to ensure continuous clinical improvement
  • Masters use of clinical systems to ensure efficiency, excellent supportive documentation, and follow-through on all patient care orders
  • Ensures compliance with local, State, and Federal Practice Act/Rules and Regulations/WC Regulations
  • Drives patient and client experience metrics.
  • Actively participates in meetings with the client where/when applicable
  • Attend and actively participate in monthly clinician meetings and all other meetings as scheduled by the market leadership team.
  • Works with DMO and onsite leadership team to manage clinical and support staffing levels and proficiencies that will optimize patient satisfaction, workflows, and efficiencies
  • Promotes, cultivates, and exemplifies Orange Book values for all onsite colleagues
  • Develops colleague success through all aspects of the talent life cycle for staff clinicians and support staff within the center
  • Fosters an environment of collaboration, professionalism, patient/colleague safety, quality care, continuous improvement, and reward and recognition
  • Leads and promotes collaboration within the onsite leadership team to achieve clinical and business outcomes

Qualifications

Education Level: Doctorate Degree

Major: Medicine Degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Education Details: Graduate of an accredited medical program with an MD or DO

Certifications and/or Licenses: Board certification/Board Eligible by ABMS/AOA preferred, meets State Licensure requirements, BLS Certified
