Genesis10 is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a 5-month position with a manufacturing client located in Oshkosh, WI. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days a week onsite.
Summary:
Genesis10 is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer who will design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components and systems. This position will perform engineering analysis, design, and development activities and provide integration and execution support for both new and existing vehicle programs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and assigned tasks in alignment with company and industry standards.
- Support senior engineers in preparing plans, designs, computation methods, and technical documentation.
- Lead or manage assigned projects or subprojects of moderate complexity.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external suppliers to support component and system design activities.
- Provide mentorship or guidance to entry-level engineers, designers, and technicians.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, internal and external customers, and other engineering disciplines on technical issues.
- Ensure proper use of engineering criteria, drawing standards, and company procedures.
- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
- Perform engineering analysis to select appropriate components, materials, and systems.
- Provide technical assistance to production and resolve engineering-related issues.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations as needed.
- Create and maintain accurate project documentation for analysis and historical reference.
- Apply analytical and mathematical approaches to model and optimize system performance.
- Participate in design reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure regular attendance and adherence to project timelines.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of related mechanical engineering experience.
- Strong mechanical design background, with the ability to handle diverse and complex challenges.
- Experience collaborating effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
- Proficiency with CAD systems and familiarity with engineering standards and practices.
Preferred (Standout) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in automotive closures design or heavy-vehicle systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment.
- Prior experience working with suppliers and managing design deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, solve complex problems, and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to analyze technical data, interpret engineering drawings, and understand regulatory standards.
- Experience preparing and presenting technical reports and recommendations.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, especially when adapting existing processes to new challenges.
- Ability to lead and mentor others performing related engineering work.
