Summary An Accounting Assistant supports accountants and finance teams by performing essential bookkeeping and administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include managing invoices, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. They may also assist with data entry, payroll processing, and responding to vendor inquiries. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software are essential for success in this role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operates telephone to receive incoming calls.
- Performs variety of receptionist, clerical and data processing duties.
- Matches and enters invoices for payment. Assist with accounts payable when needed.
- Answer vendor inquiries.
- Match up accounts receivable invoices with corresponding shipping paperwork.
- Matches and enters freight invoices for payment.
- Cross Train to be able to process weekly payroll for hourly non-exempt employees.
- Assist Human Resource department when needed, such as filing, maintaining uniforms, lockers, safety apparel, etc.
- Looks for opportunity to get employees involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
- To follow all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
- Shut down process if unsafe.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Associate's degree (A. A.) in accounting or related field; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough working knowledge of data processing systems (PCs) and related software.
- Must attend, complete, and implement required in-house training.

Wage Range for this position is $31,674 - $45,579 annually.
