The Distribution Associate II reports to general supervision, but according to established policies and procedures, performs various duties under the functional areas of Shipping and Receiving. This position must maintain a clean and safe work environment according to established policies and procedures. The main responsibilities of this position are to perform receiving and picking duties including:



  • Verifying accuracy of warehouse deliveries by comparing to purchase orders. Inspecting items for damage or defects.
  • Completing appropriate paperwork and entering information into department computer system.
  • Unloading and unpacking items from delivery vehicle.
  • Filling pick-list requests for warehouse items.
  • Preparing and packing items for transport to various sites.
  • Operating motorized and manual material handling equipment including, but not limited to, fork lift, pallet jacks and reach trucks.
  • Meeting established picking and receiving expectations in accordance to standards of operation.


Hours:

40 Hours (Full Time), Day Shift, Weekends Required

Education:



  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a G.E.D. Certificate required


Knowledge:



  • Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, inventory stocking and distribution
  • Knowledge of principles for receiving, storage, picking, staging and shipping material.
  • Analytical ability necessary to maintain inventory location filing system and proper cataloging of inventory.


Skills:



  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with other employees and vendors
  • Basic computer and typing skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take direction and follow institutional guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to be flexible to meet schedule needs, and handle frequent unpredictable changes.
  • Ability to work as a committed team member in by contributing in a positive, enthusiastic, engaged and collaborative manner.


Work Experience:



  • Three years of relevant work experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing or similar work environments.


Machines, Tools, Equipment:



  • Must be able to operate data processing equipment including PC's bar code scanners, image scanners, voice picking system and hand-held order entry system.
  • Operating motorized and manual material handling equipment including fork lifts, pallet jacks and reach truck


Working Conditions:



  • Must be able to lift and move material in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts and weekends.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, lift and/or reach for an extended period of time.
  • Work performed in a warehouse/loading dock setting where there is exposure to varying temperatures

Salary Range: Minimum 17.11/hour - Maximum 28.26/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
