Summary: The New Product Innovation (NPI) Program Manager is responsible for providing supply chain leadership to support new product development in a cross-functional team environment, which would includestrategic planning, commodity expertise, supplier selection, cost and capital management, risk assessment and mitigation, and acting as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish the organizational structure, systems and processes required to support NPI across all CPC business units.
  • Lead, mentor, and drive high-performance outcomes within the team to support schedule adherence surrounding NPI deliverables.
  • Develop strategies that improve the sourcing of components to support the new product design and development process and the associated critical timelines for each business unit.
  • Provide commodity knowledge and market expertise for, but not limited to, machining, metal fab, and injection molding to cross-functional teams to successfully launch new products, manage engineering change, and eliminate production inefficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain alignment with cross functional team members in Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing to ensure responsibilities are executed to support NPI.
  • Lead supplier selection to incorporate new technologies and manufacturing methods.
  • Direct efforts to prevent and resolve complex supply chain problems while acting as a critical path lead on prototypes and pilot projects.
  • Develop and maintain material cost tracking models to ensure alignment with financial expectations.
  • Establish and manage supplier relationships to provide the best competitive advantage and utilization of the company's annual spend.
  • Negotiate to provide the lowest total cost.
  • Comply with all Quality policies while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the process of ISO, ASI, and other certifications deemed necessary by the business.
  • Maintain and optimize the ERP system to improve efficiency and reporting.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Demonstrate support of CPC core values.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of strategic sourcing experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in a supervisory capacity within Supply Chain.
  • Proven expertise in category management, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Proficient skills navigating large-scale ERP systems and PowerBI; Oracle preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently or within a team.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience with suppliers in plastics, metals, or related fields, preferred.

  • Self-motivated and confident. Comfortable to work independently, as well as within cross-functional teams.
  • Able to balance many tasks and conflicting priorities.
  • Astute organizational skills with drive to meet deliverables in a timely manner. Attention to detail and accuracy. High level of a sense of urgency.
  • High degree of computer proficiency, including software applications of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience working in a global, multi-site manufacturing company, preferred.
  • Experience working in medical device or other regulated industry, preferred.

Travel:

  • Domestic and international travel up to 10%
