Description

What You Will Do

  • Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers/co-workers.
  • Takes the lead to partner with UHHS' Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) for GPO awarded contracts and related supply conversion and implementation needs.
  • Works with Contract Administration team to develop and ensure that all routinely follow a standardized process for conversion and implementation of projects.
  • Takes ownership of self-development and supports a continuous learning environment.
  • Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
  • Develops contracts including product definition, vendor selection, negotiation and award. Actively reviews and redlines vendor contracts as required. Has in-depth understanding of business and legal terms of a contract and understands the ramifications of the language.
  • Follows the necessary steps to become a UH Certified Contract Administrator (CCA) and takes the departmental lead on CCA approval of Supply Chain contracts that meet CCA requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct strategic contract meetings with UHHS and partners for contract award and implementation.
  • Coordinate and interface as needed with users and affected departments to garner support and implement contracts.
  • Manage contracts and maintain records for adherence to terms, pricing and compliance. Assists with and works to correct any post contract implementation issues (i.e. backorders, pricing exceptions, contract compliance) as required. Coordinates with Contract Administration team to ensure they are following up as needed for their assigned commodities.
  • Collaborates with Buyers, Analysts and Contract Administration team in support of the Value Analysis function.
  • Relationship Management - Effectively communicate with all stakeholders; Building relationships with clinical and nonclinical customers throughout the hospital management structure in order to ensure Sourcing involvement in appropriate aspects of needs throughout hospital operations.
  • Engages with Contract Administration team to ensure that cost savings are reported accurately and timely on a regular basis.
  • Available as a resource and/or mentor to colleagues both within and outside of the Supply Chain department.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
