About the Position The purpose of this position is to provide professional-level administrative support to the Director of the Parks and Recreation Department in order to enhance the effectiveness of the Director in providing quality outdoor experiences for the public, preserving the natural resources of the County Park System, and providing support to the personnel in the department who are the heart and soul of the agency. The Executive Assistant is a critical link between the Director and the wide variety of constituents we serve. About Us Welcome to the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department! We Require
- Four years of administrative experience with at least two years supporting management
- High school diploma or GED
- An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

Job Contributions
- Schedules appointments, maintains calendar(s), and manages routine correspondence, calls, emails, and other requests for the Director and Executive staff
- Creates and manages complex electronic databases, files, and records systems to provide easy access, legal retention, and timely retrieval of information upon request
- Serves as the Liaison to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission, including coordinating meeting agendas and logistics; fulfilling public notice requirements; producing and providing Commission reports and correspondence; taking and publishing meeting minutes
- Researches, composes, reviews, edits, and tracks email correspondence, memos, reports, Board of Supervisors' agenda items, policies, procedures, or other materials for review, presentations, distribution, or official signature
- Manages and monitors department training system and program
- Communicates with the department staff, general public, vendors, outside agencies and organizations, and other county department staff, including managing public record requests
- Assists with and leads departmental events and programs such as Blood Drives, Combined Charitable Campaign, Wellness, All-Hands meetings, and Employee Recognition Awards
- Manages departmental travel requests and limited membership/program purchasing
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
- Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree
- Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
