Job Summary

Coordinates and administers the operational and financial activities associated with the academic program in the Nursing Undergraduate department. The Sr. Program Coordinator will provide academic and student advisement, including the support of essential administrative functions to meet departmental goals. Demonstrates broad decision-making authority to perform complex duties to support the department. This position will report to the Chair of the Nursing Undergraduate department.

  • Coordinates and administers the operational and financial activities associated with the Nursing Undergraduate department, ensuring organizational efficiency. This includes monitoring accounts, reconciling statements, advising management on budgetary needs or discrepancies, and facilitating income generation as needed.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of courses and implementation of new and ongoing academic programs in the Nursing Undergraduate Department.
  • Manages programmatic functions, formulates, and recommends policies and procedures to effectively manage the generic BSN, accelerated option and RN-BSN tracks.
  • Oversees and evaluates program and services, records and implements procedures to improve program efficiency, and analyze program and enrollment data for quality improvement initiatives.
  • Oversees the collection, compilation, and maintenance of comprehensive program-related data, ensuring accuracy and availability for high-level decision making by college leadership.
  • Assists in the coordination/preparation of strategic plans in support of the Nursing Undergraduate department.
  • Serves as liaison between program participants and the university community.
  • Assists with program marketing and recruitment, as required. Coordinates to set enrollment targets and oversee the matriculation of new students initially and onward through the student life cycle. Recommends enhancements to the NUR program website as communication and recruitment materials for prospective students. Represents the NUR program in marketing and recruitment events.
  • Assures that the staff are compliant with university policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with the Program Coordinators of the Nursing Undergraduate department by providing assistance with scheduling, events, symposiums, faculty assignments; by cross training and supporting during peak load occurrences.
  • Collaborates with the Student Services Department personnel with facilitation of orientation, recruitment, selections, student registration and enrollment.
  • Supervises and evaluates the work of departmental staff, including Federal Work Study and temporary employees.
  • Establishes and maintains academic standards and degree requirements, accreditation matters, as necessary.
  • Coordinates all logistical matters related to each project including planning, initiation, coordination, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitors status of projects. Analyzes program data, develops reports, and oversees activities.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive tracking systems to monitor program progress, milestones, and key performance indicators.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of office or related experience.



Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience within a university setting, preferably supporting a health sciences or nursing program.
  • Proficiency with specific university enterprise systems for student records, budgeting, and course scheduling (e.g., PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Workday, etc.).
