Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician 1 - Radiation Oncology to join the team. This role will be PRN; 2-3-day shifts per week; No weekends, no holidays. Department is open Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM.

Clinical Technician 1 - Radiation Oncology Job Responsibilities:



  • PLEASE NOTE: responsibilities include 60% administrative & 40% patient care. No IV or Phlebotomy will be performed in this role.
  • Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Provides measurement of vital signs and intake/output.
  • Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame.
  • Completes necessary documentation accurately and reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills.
  • Communicates changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Provides direct care to patients under direct supervision of registered nurse.
  • Training: Must be available six (6) for non-consecutive weeks of paid training, consisting of:

    • Virtual orientations (Two from 8AM -4:30PM)
    • Virtual training modules.
    • Classroom-style sessions: 8AM - 4:30PM (6 shifts total)
    • On-unit shifts

  • May perform additional duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Special Skills: Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift minimum of 35lbs pounds


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience: Healthcare background / interest; Someone who is interested in healthcare but is leaning toward an administrative role rather than patient care; Familiarity with oncology - not afraid of seeing patients with different types of cancers; Comfortable with medical terminology.
