  General Purpose of Job: Perform general clerical, organizational and office duties. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader.  Performs a variety of clerical dutiesIdentifies and trouble shoots technology failures and handles computer downtimeIndependently aids Caregivers, including daily rounding and delivering necessary office suppliesOperates and utilizes office equipment and software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Copy / fax Machine, and answering and directing phone callsCommunicates with patients, families, members of the health care team and others in a professional, diplomatic and empathetic mannerCoordinates as needed with Homecare, LTACH, Mental Health Services, sub-acute rehab, hospice, Human Arc, DME suppliers, maintains DME asset location for Patient Support ServicesAssists with compiling the necessary supportive documents required for patients transitioning to a different site of careResponds in accordance to the appeal process as it relates to Medicare & MedicaidFaxes Children Specialized Health Care Services and Early On applications as needed, SSI packets, and maintains handouts for familiesMaintains and updates contact information for the available community resources

     | General Requirements | BLS - preferred |    
     | Work Experience | Minimum of 6 months previous secretarial experience |    
     | Education | High school diploma, GED or successful completion of 12 grades combined with continued enrollment in early college program Associates degree in Business or related field - preferred |    
     | Specialized Knowledge and Skills | Clerical skills necessary to perform data entry, prepare reports, and tabulate routine data Interpersonal skills for effective communication Knowledge of basic medical terminology, health insurance, policies, or procedures Ability to view a computer CRT for prolonged periods Able to respond to and prioritize multiple requests and variable degrees of unpredictability requiring adaptability in work activities Demonstrated working knowledge of computer applications/ software's, including Epic and keyboard functions Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
