Level to be determined based on the credentials of the selected candidate. Junior Programmer Analyst Responsibilities: The primary purpose of this position is working with data to produce reports and computer systems that provide timely and accurate information to our end users in the performance of their jobs. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the integrity, validity, and security of all data and data systems within the confines of the University computing systems. The incumbent will also provide third-level technical support for applications and end users throughout the University. This will include working with 3rd party vendors for additional support. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer programming, or a closely related field is required, along with one year of progressive experience in programming with object-oriented methodologies that must include a basic understanding of relational databases, and basic knowledge of TSQL language that includes data definition and data manipulation. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and some professional field-related experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired will be considered. Programmer Analyst Responsibilities: Write web application programs using Microsoft.Net and C# language per established requirements and specifications. Work with SQL Server database systems using T-SQL language performing basic CRUD activities. Produce documentation and logic flows of all work performed as assigned. These functions will be performed with moderate to minimal levels of direct supervision, guidance, and assistance from management and/or other team members. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer programming, or a closely related field is required, along with three years of progressive experience in general programming with object-oriented methodologies that must include an understanding of relational databases and knowledge of TSQL language that includes data definition and data manipulation. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and some professional field-related experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired will be considered. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: The successful candidate must have knowledge of Microsoft.Net framework, Visual Studio, Visual Basic, C#, T-SQL, SSMS, SSIS, and SSRS. Must also demonstrate ability to produce applications work product from end-user specifications and requirements with a moderate level of supervision; ability to work independently. Senior Programmer Analyst: Responsibilities: The primary purpose of this position is to function as an integrator working with data analysts and end users to produce a complete data system solution. The incumbent will also provide Tier 3 level technical support for applications throughout the University. The support provided will include, but will not be limited to, contacting third-party vendors for additional support. This position requires logic and programming skills. Evaluate, plan, coordinate, and execute software system upgrades. Design, develop and troubleshoot SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages. This position will also be responsible for assisting the department head in requirements gathering, design, development and documentation of work products. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer programming, or a closely related field and five years of progressive experience in general programming with .Net technologies, of which one year must be working with SSIS and/or SSRS. Experience should also include object-oriented and relational database design and programming. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and some professional field-related experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired will be considered. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: The successful candidate must have knowledge of Microsoft.Net framework, Visual Studio, Visual Basic, C#, T-SQL, SSMS, SSIS, and SSRS. Candidates must have a solid foundation and understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), .Net and C# programming, relational database design and programming. Ability to produce computer-based solutions from a requirements document with minimal direct supervision. Able to produce logic flow charts, design documents and system documentation at a senior level.
