Basic understanding of
TCP/IP networking, switches, and wireless.
Experience with cabling standards (Cat5e/6, fiber), cable testing tools, and patch management.
Ability to use network diagnostic tools (ping, traceroute, basic monitoring utilities).
Preferred: CompTIA Network+ or equivalent entry-level certification.
Hands-on experience with enterprise switches, routers, or wireless systems.
Exposure to ticketing and change management systems
Experience working in a campus or enterprise IT environment. |

Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
Install, terminate, and test network cabling and fiber.
Rack, stack, and cable network hardware (switches, routers, wireless access points).
Assist with configuration and deployment of network equipment under guidance from senior staff.
Respond to and resolve end-user network connectivity issues.
Escalate complex issues to Network Engineers as needed.
This position is campus-based and requires being physically present to perform hands-on work.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
Document work performed, update diagrams, and maintain accurate records.
Participate in routine maintenance, patching, and network upgrades.
Support troubleshooting of wireless coverage and performance issues.
The Network & System Administration unit supports the university by managing and maintaining the core technology infrastructure.
This includes the campus network, servers, and related systems that provide reliable and secure connectivity and services for
students, faculty, staff, and researchers. The unit plays a key role in enabling teaching, learning, research, and daily operations. |
Work Hours |
Standard hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime may be required to support system maintenance, upgrades, or emergency response. |
