The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team in a multi-faceted role as a Medical Education Administrator and Program Liaison. This position requires a high level of organization, prioritization, and management of multiple projects simultaneously. The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide administrative, operational, logistical, and fiscal support for the department's educational programming, including, but not limited to, residency program coordination, visiting professorships, educational courses, CME activities, coordination of department social events, social media as well as editorship of our department newsletter. This role will manage the daily operations of the Otolaryngology Residency Program, ensuring compliance with ACGME, LCME, and CME standards. Responsibilities include coordinating faculty and trainee schedules, overseeing recruitment and credentialing processes, maintaining accreditation documentation, and managing evaluations and budget activities. The candidate will assist with trainee travel reimbursements, policy updates, and communication between faculty, trainees, and administrative offices. Additionally, this role supports educational initiatives such as Grand Rounds and oversees Otolaryngology Education web content. This role will also coordinate departmental social and educational events, including the annual Fitz-Hugh Symposium, by securing venues, negotiating contracts, managing budgets, and providing logistical support. They will assist with grant applications to obtain educational funding and help plan and facilitate orientations, workshops, and other academic activities. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with the faculty sponsor to create and distribute the semi-annual department newsletter and manage social media content to highlight departmental activities throughout the year. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Position Type & Work Location
