Requisition ID req34848 Working Title Operations Specialist - Neurosurgery Position Grade 11 Position Summary The Department of Neurosurgery seeks a highly motivated and initiative driven Operations Specialist to contribute to the continued growth and development of the critical service UNM Neurosurgery provides for New Mexico. This position will partner with the Department Administrator to carry out the goals of the department and the School of Medicine, while collaborating with University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH), and the University of New Mexico Medical Group (UNMMG). A key function of the Operations Specialist is to oversee all aspects of department human resources management, including faculty hiring, promotion and tenure processes, and staff onboarding and offboarding. Additionally, the selected candidate should have a firm understanding of a clinical department and functionality, including the credentialing process. Lastly, this position will be responsible for some project management processes during an organizational change. The successful incumbent may facilitate the coordination of academic, clinical, and educational activity across multiple organizational entities, requiring a familiarity with the policies and procedures of UNM, UNM Hospitals and UNM Medical Group. Additional responsibilities include: * Processing HR transactions for faculty, staff, and student recruitments and hires * Purchasing and PCard reconciliations * Credentialing of faculty and APPs at UNMH * Calculation and payment of faculty call pay and APP extra shifts * Creation and upkeep of various Smartsheet sheets, reports, and dashboards * Development and upkeep of various departmental policies and procedures * Create efficiencies through the development of tools utilizing Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 * Administrative support for various faculty and APPs * Other duties as assigned See the Position Description for additional information. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field * Demonstrated experience with development of teams and organizational structures * Working knowledge of UNMH, UNMMG, and UNM SOM policies and procedures * Demonstrated experience processing human resources transactions for faculty, staff, and student * Current experience with credentialing and professional practice evaluations * Experience in Smartsheet Additional Requirements Campus Health Sciences Center (HSC) - Albuquerque, NM Department SOM Neurosurgery (523D) Employment Type Staff Staff Type Regular - Full-Time Term End Date Status Exempt Pay Monthly: $3,802.93 - $5,097.73 Benefits Eligible This is a benefits eligible position.
