Job Description:

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Workday Integration Expert with our client in the insurance industry. This is a 2 month contract position and is fully remote.

Compensation: $100-110 per hour W2, depending on skill and experience level.

Job Description

Overview

Our client is seeking a Workday Integration Expert to support ongoing and upcoming Workday-UKG integration initiatives as part of their transition from ADP. This role will focus on completing and validating critical integration components-particularly around Time & Absence reporting, GL (General Ledger) inbound, and payroll-related integrations between Workday and UKG.

The selected consultant will assess existing integration builds, determine whether to enhance or rebuild them, and execute deliverables to ensure readiness for the January go-live. Additional scope may include supporting other Workday integrations and assisting with internal enablement and training.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role requiring both deep technical expertise in Workday integrations and the ability to collaborate closely across HR, Finance, and Technical teams to drive progress in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate existing Workday integration builds; identify whether components should be reused or rebuilt.
  • Design, develop, and test integrations between Workday and UKG, including time accrual, time entry, pay inbound, and GL financial integrations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure integration designs meet functional and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in test cycles and troubleshooting sessions, coordinating directly with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams.
  • Support validation, testing, and go-live activities leading up to the first payroll of the new year.
  • Provide post go-live support, enhancements, and potential training for internal team members to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Create and maintain documentation for integration design, test cases, and deployment procedures.

Required Technical Skills

  • Workday Integrations: Expertise in building and troubleshooting Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIBs, and Workday Report Writer.
  • Functional Expertise: Deep understanding of Time & Absence configuration and reporting.
  • Financials / GL: Experience integrating financial and payroll data (GL inbound and pay inbound integrations).
  • Middleware / API Knowledge: Familiarity with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) integrations, ISU (Integration System Users), and API extensions.
  • Testing and Validation: Proven experience with test cycles, load validations, and defect resolution in Workday environments.
  • Soft Skills & Team Dynamics
  • Excellent communicator who collaborates effectively across HR, Payroll, and Finance stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem solver who can quickly assess and prioritize tasks.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote team setting (team of 6: 2 Finance, 4 HCM).
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Experience mentoring or training internal resources is a plus.

Team cadence:

  • Daily team connection meetings
  • Twice-weekly stand-ups
  • Joint testing sessions for validation and modification cycles

Engagement Timeline

  • Immediate need - project is mid-flight and behind schedule due to resource loss.
  • Full-time through go-live (approx. 2 months), then potential to transition to part-time support for post-go-live enhancements and training.
