To achieve this goal, the CHSE (Cloud Hardware Systems Engineering) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical circuits based on customer and architectural specifications. Document those designs in HW specifications and block diagrams. For early POC work develop initial schematics and layout using the Allegro design suite and/or 3rd party design firms. Collaborate with internal design team (thermal, mechanical, firmware, OS) and external partner (ODM/OEM) for design implementation, ensure product functionality, performance, quality and reliability.Collaborate with ODM EE, SI, and power teams to do detailed EE design work, fabricate the boards, and complete EE verification to ensure the design meets quality and performance requirements. This oversight includes participating in cross functional and ODM, MSFT working meetings, providing block diagrams, specifications and test plans, and reviewing SI, PI and lab test reports. Test and debug hardware. This includes having excellent hardware debug and lab skills, being able to modify a board to enable probing if needed, write and execute test scripts, and operate complex test and measurement equipment (oscopes, programmable power supplies, protocol analyzers, are some examples). Responsible for thorough and deep design reviews, including schematics, board files, BOM, DFT, DFM, etc.Define board level bring-up and electrical test requirements, ensure complete coverage, execute or guarantee execution.Work with partner teams to create EE bring-up and end-to-end validation test plans, ensure complete coverage, guarantee execution.Must be a team player and demonstrate motivation to be a member of a high performing EE team
