Health Aid & Technician Mental Health

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent potential opportunity for a Health Aide & Technician (Mental Health) to support the Sam Rayburn Memorial VA Medical Center in Bonham, TX - where every day brings new challenges, meaningful patient connections, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

U.S. Citizenship required

• Education: High School Diploma or Associate Degree from an accredited institution, including 12 semester hours in health sciences, nursing, behavioral health, or related fields

• Experience: At least 1 year of direct patient care experience assisting physicians or clinical staff in a rehabilitation or treatment program setting

• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (through the American Heart Association)

• Provide compassionate care and support in a rehabilitation setting for patients recovering from substance use or mental health challenges

• Observe and document patient symptoms, behaviors, and reactions to treatment

• Assist in individual, group, and behavior therapy sessions

• Conduct patient rounds every 2 hours to ensure safety and engagement

• Support patient intake, orientation, and discharge processes

• Escort patients safely throughout the facility and promote structured, therapeutic activities

• Collaborate with clinical teams to maintain a safe, positive, and recovery-focused environment

• Adhere to infection control standards and universal precautions in all procedures

• Occasionally assist at the Bonham Domiciliary front desk, greeting patients and supporting administrative needs

• Full-time, 40 hours per week | Some weekends required

• VA Business Hours: Health Aides are required to work 40 hours per week, including a variety of shifts from Sunday through Thursday and Tuesday through Saturday. The Sunday through Thursday shift runs from 11:30 pm to 8:00 am. The Tuesday through Saturday shifts are from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm and 3:30 pm to 12:00 am. Shifts and locations may change
