Mechanical/Electrical Group Lead Job Purpose: With the manager's guidance, the Manufacturing Team Lead provides day-today guidance and support to a group of Manufacturing Assemblers/Testers/Operators.He/she takes responsibility for the coordination of activities within the assigned area and ensures a smooth flow of production to meet schedules, ensuring effective use of people and equipment.The Manufacturing Team Lead participates in the group's work by coordinating and advising others and/or by helping out where needed toensure the achievement of expected productivity goals. Nature of Duties: 
 
 
 Leads a team of production workers to ensure daily production goals are metAssigns tasks and responsibilities to team members and monitor their performanceTakes accountability for the behavior and performance of the assigned group and/or shift, and provides on-the-job training and mentoring to other team membersIdentifies material shortages and initiates corrective action in relation to productionEnsures all safety and operating procedures are followed at all timesCompletes regular reporting and data management updatesAttends regular production meetings to represent interests and concerns of assigned areaMay assist in the development and implementation of new proceduresEnsures proper record keeping of diagrams and assembly aidsMay provide input into hiring decisions and performance managementMonitors and coordinate daily priorities with a view to maximizing resource allocation and product deliveriesSupports daily production meetingsAssists/oversees completion of shift report and verifies completion and accuracy of shift audit checklistSupports material & documentation primes as requiredProactively monitors WIP to achieve FIFO, minimize holds and maintain 100% inventory accuracyWorks with operators to ensure a continuous reduction in scrap and rework through proper handling of product and following established documented workmanship methods and best businessDemonstrates the ability to read, interpret and follow assembly drawings, diagrams, and schematics to determine components parts and assembly sequenceExcellent attention to detailPerforms a wide variety of electronic or electromechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies, which may vary from sitting to standing, moving line to stationary, with very light to medium weight componentsAbilities to stand for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping and stretching
 
 
 Education and Experience Requirements: 
 
 
 High school diploma or equivalent Generally prefer 26 week college course in Electronics AssemblyRequires minimum of 4 years of factory experience in a technical manufacturing environment,especially one that is related to box build assembliesExperience in building Inverters an assetGood written and verbal communication skills in English needed to escalate issues to managers, engineering and other departmentsAbilities to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and make decision under pressureProficiency with Microsoft Excel to record data desirableAbilities to use various equipment and tools and troubleshoot difficulties or escalate when requiredAbilities to use torque hand toolsWorks overtime as required based on business needs
