Inside the Role

The Operational Expenses (OPEX) Steering Analyst is responsible for driving the planning, forecasting and reporting activities for fixed operating costs within NA region. The position is directly responsible for all aspects of fixed operating costs planning and reporting for US and Canada, as well as for consolidation of plans, forecasts and actuals for NA region.
Position requires ICS compliance activities as applicable.

  • Responsible for fixed operating costs planning, forecasting & reporting activities on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis for all US and CA departments:
  • Support planning and forecasting activities for all departments, develop planning schedules, communicate deadlines and manage reporting/upload processes
  • Provide monthly reporting of actual spend and investigate variances against the budget (for spend, FTEs and capital); gain an in-depth understanding across all categories and drivers of OPEX spend; ad-hoc reporting
  • Work with the business partners and department heads to understand ongoing and upcoming budget needs as well as to investigate deviations from plan.
  • Coordinate and provide documentation and tracking of targets, projects & initiatives regard
  • Provide guidance and oversight to Reporting Analyst at the captive shared service center (NASC) to ensure business knowledge sharing as well as clear understanding of deliverables and timelines.
  • Maintain up to date view of total company spend and upcoming business needs to ensure any budget concerns and/or strategic needs are addressed timely and through appropriate prioritization channels.
  • Consolidate forecast, planning and actual OPEX results for NA region; understand key regional OPEX drivers, prepare and present regional OPEX development to DTFS exec management.
  • Drive automation of OPEX forecast and reporting tasks with the goal of enabling real-time results reporting; this would provide timely transparency to current spend to both, DTFS business partners and DTFS management, allowing for fact-based decision-making.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • 5 years of Controlling, Accounting or related experience.
  • Prior experience with budgeting and forecasting as well as cost analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with expense accounts, General Ledger, planning and process tools required
  • PC/Software skills: SAP, Microsoft Suite of products.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to collect data and establish facts, identify trends and variances; ability to integrate information from a variety of sources with varied levels of complexity.
  • Experience working with data analysis, reporting and visualization tools.
  • Attention to detail, customer focus, planning and organizing, problem solving and analysis, teamwork and collaboration.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Experience with expense accounts, General Ledger, planning and process tools.
  • Experience managing and updating presentation slides used in executive meetings, ensuring content is current, well-organized, and aligned with strategic messaging.
