About the role

We are seeking a transformative, commercial, and product-minded leader for a pivotal role at the heart of our global enterprise business. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead the newly formed Payments Performance and Revenue Optimisation function, a critical component of Worldpay's strategic priorities.

This function sits at the core of our value proposition for enterprise merchants. Our ability to deliver best-in-class payment performance is driven by leveraging sophisticated tools like GenAI and predictive analytics to maximise authorisation rates, enhance fraud protection, and optimise the entire payment lifecycle through advanced authentication and tokenization strategies. This capability is fundamental to our clients' success and a key differentiator that underpins Worldpay's continued market leadership.

The ideal candidate is a visionary with a "builder's mentality" who is empowered to build their team and define its direction. You will need a hands-on approach to craft the initial strategy and establish the function, while also possessing the executive presence to be a credible, external-facing ambassador for Worldpay. This involves cultivating deep client relationships at an executive level and confidently representing the company in the wider industry.

What you'll own

  • Shape and deliver the Payments Performance and Revenue Optimisation strategy with data-driven choices, developing world-class data science reporting and analysis for the wider business.

  • Lead the team responsible for improving authorisation rates and unlocking the value of the Fraud Strategy and Analytics team for our strategic customers and wider Enterprise portfolio.

  • Own and be accountable for the delivery of commercial targets and broader performance metrics, aligning the team's efforts to those activities with greatest customer impact.

  • Collaborate with regionally aligned global sales functions to execute insight-driven campaigns that enhance payment performance for Worldpay's most important strategic customers.

  • Work closely with our Product and Engineering functions to inform the delivery and product enhancement roadmap.

  • Build and mentor best-in-class subject matter expertise within the team, fostering a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Engage with 3rd party partners and industry players to represent Worldpay's interests and ensure compliance with structural and regulatory shifts.

  • Serve as the senior, client-facing voice of payments performance, building a compelling narrative from data to explain performance and provide clear recommendations.

What you bring:

  • Multiple years' experience leading teams in the payments industry, preferably on the acquiring side.

  • Substantial proven experience as a Product and Commercial senior leader, managing multiple global cross-functional teams.

  • A track record of identifying and commercialising functions, with demonstrated success in entrepreneurial ventures or initiatives.

  • Experience in operational transformation, specifically around fraud, authorisation rates, or payment performance.

  • A strategic thinker who can analyze the competitive landscape, identify opportunities, and craft sophisticated commercial strategies.

  • An expert negotiator with the ability to network effectively and influence senior stakeholders across a complex, matrixed environment.

  • You possess the dual ability to "roll up your sleeves" to build a function from the ground up, while also having the executive presence to operate as a credible, external-facing leader.

  • You possess outstanding communication and presentation skills and are adept at building credibility and trust with senior executives.
