The NYS licensed physical therapist shall perform the following duties:



  • Act as a physical therapy consultant.
  • Assess and evaluate client's condition to develop a physical therapy treatment plan based on a physician's request.
  • Review clients' treatment goals, treatment, and medical history.
  • Perform and interpret standard muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests.
  • Administer appropriate physical therapy treatment when indicated.
  • Prepare documentation of assessment, evaluation, delivery of treatment services, and patient progress for the client's medical record.
  • Consult with the client's treatment team as needed.
  • Be under the supervision of Psychiatric Center Director of Medicine or the Director's designee.
  • Conduct a brace/shoe clinic as needed.
  • Evaluate patients for wheelchairs and adaptive equipment.
  • Submit monthly statistical information to the Medical Director and Business Office, including the number of patients treated, number of physical therapy modalities administered, number of evaluations, and number of admissions/discharges in the physical therapy services.
  • Maintain a performance improvement program related to structure, process, and outcomes.
