The Senior Director, Client Services is responsible for leading relationships with our strategic clients, developing joint business plans, partnering with retail teams to create determine white space opportunities, and driving new sales opportunities, specifically in the Private Brand space.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in retail across all channels - club, mass, pet specialty, ecommerce, and traditional grocery. The ideal candidate has a knowledge of the categories with history and passion for growing businesses, particularly in the Private Brands industry. Responsibilities:

  • Create and define the long-term strategy for the Pet, Paper, and Grocery Non-Foods desk across Daymon
  • Developing, maintaining, and growing clients' business through collaborative business plans, partnering with account teams, selling in new opportunities and services.
  • Understanding the industry and competitive landscape to determine focus areas. Reviewing industry and category trends to make sound recommendations to customers and clients
  • Expanding Daymon Private Brands business by selling new services and gaining new clients within the respective categories across retail
  • Showcasing Daymon's Private Brand expertise within the Pet, Paper, and Grocery Non-Foods categories through presentations, category reviews, overall industry/category recommendations
  • Day-to-day business and relationship management, including but not limited to: analyzing sales reports, submitting/negotiating contracts, sales tracking, etc.
  • Make adjustments and optimize service quality to maximize our one-to-one consumer interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; MBA Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in sales within the pet, paper or grocery non-foods categories or channels of trade, including P&L responsibility (budgeting, forecasting, etc.)
  • Previous experience managing direct reports
  • Experience working with and selling to major retail chains such as Costco, Walmart, Tractor Supply, Petco, and/or experience in consumer packaged goods industry
  • Excellent strategic thinking and process development skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to influence without authority

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Sr. Director Client Team Services INEX is responsible for supporting all sales and experiential marketing strategy, initiatives, and overall results within the U.S. for select channels of distribution. Responsible for headquarter sales for the grocery and convenience outlets serviced by the Company. Other experiential marketing service responsibility will include planning, budgeting, and coordination of surge and reset work. This position will be a critical contact to the client organization and senior leadership.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Client Relations

  • Act as primary interface and sales / experiential marketing authority with client's management team. Ensure proper connections and communication internally with key Company stakeholders and service supporters
  • Organize and facilitate key internal and external meetings required to deliver experiential marketing performance, advance strategy and vision, and enhance business partnership
  • Diagnose, craft and implement sales and experiential marketing solutions to accommodate client needs within approved funding

Initiative Development and Management

  • Drive key sales and retail initiative development and execution with broader experiential marketing teams. Key initiatives will include enhancement of ROI based activity reporting, deployment of new sales and experiential marketing approaches, technology, competitive benchmarking process, etc.

Management / Leadership

  • Achieve headquarter sales and experiential marketing business objectives by aligning, prioritizing, communicating, executing and reporting across all sales and experiential marketing teams and channels of distribution
  • Manage within defined budget and deliver company operating income plan. P&L and pro-forma oversight
  • Deliver key performance KPI's and ROI
  • Ensure talent development and team engagement for sustainable team success

Administration / Reporting

  • Review and refine all aspects of internal and external reporting, ensuring relevant and consistent approach across teams
  • Ownership of all communication, platforms, tools, insights and recommendations as they relate to experiential marketing performance and needs

Budget / Expense Control

  • Control expense / budget by aggressively and proactively managing sales and experiential marketing funds, including labor expenses - monitor and report on a monthly basis

Supervisory

  • Maintain best-in-class staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training leadership team and associates
  • Achieve job results through the coaching, counseling, and discipline of associates; monitoring, planning and appraising job results
  • Consistently recruit and promote "top graded" talent, creating pipeline for future company management

Supervisory Responsibilities

Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Travel is an essential duty and function of this job. Driving is not an essential duty or function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

- 15 years industry experience with leading CPG and/or agency

- 10 years sales and experiential marketing supervisory experience.

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment.
