Human Resources (HR) roles are dedicated to managing the people-related functions within organizations. They serve as strategic partners to leadership teams, supporting organizational objectives and promoting a positive work culture.

Discipline Description

Compensation personnel develop, implement, and administer compensation programs for nonexempt, exempt, executive, and other employment classifications. This includes salaries, short-term incentives, variable pay, market surveys and analysis, job evaluation, performance rankings, salary increase plans, and job offers.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement of up to 50%.

Under the direction of the Compensation Manager, administers compensation programs including job evaluation and promotion review. Maintains records, evaluates proposed compensation actions for completeness and compliance, and provides excellent customer service to managers, employees, and human resources colleagues in compiling and driving compensation proposals.

In this entry-level position, learns the fundamentals of Compensation theory, analysis, practice, design, administration, and compliance. Manages the company's library of salary surveys, including survey input and maintenance of data in a dedicated survey database. Maintains Compensation communications including the "Yellow Book" of job family and discipline descriptions.

Supports other Compensation team members in executing analyses and projects, including the annual merit cycle, job evaluations, and ad-hoc assignments.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in relevant field
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
* Demonstrated proficiency in statistical analysis, database administration, and data interpretation and presentation.

We'd Also Like to See

Strong personal computer skills utilizing any number of generally accepted/available software applications to perform word processing, database management, spreadsheet, and graphics functions. Advanced experience with Excel is essential. Access programming experience is highly desirable.

Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate, orally and in writing, complex processes, ideas, and data to diverse audiences is required.

Demonstrated history of using strong organizational and communication skills to ensure efficiency and on-time completion of projects or processes.

Experience with PeopleSoft or similar HRIS, and with developing and using queries to extract information is beneficial.

Four-year degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, Data Science, or similar field preferred, but not required.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
