A leading agricultural manufacturing company in Santee, SC, is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join its growing team. Hours & Pay

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000 annually (based on experience)

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and site-specific safety policies
  • Lead employee safety teams and promote engagement across departments
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions
  • Manage incident investigations, documentation, and root cause analysis
  • Oversee EHS training programs for employees and contractors
  • Monitor environmental compliance (air, stormwater, spill plans, and waste management)
  • Serve as primary contact for OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory agencies
  • Support emergency response drills and compliance reporting
  • Collaborate with plant operations to ensure adherence to safe work practices
  • Track and report safety metrics and KPIs to leadership

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of EHS experience, ideally in manufacturing or agricultural processing
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and South Carolina environmental regulations
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications



  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, ASP, or HAZWOPER
  • Experience with EHS management systems and data reporting tools
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform on-site inspections
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments with PPE, machinery, and moderate noise
