KPMG is currently seeking a Managing Director, Compliance Governance, Monitoring and Quality Controls to join our Ethics and Compliance organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage the KPMGs comprehensive compliance governance framework and monitoring programs to ensure these initiatives are consistent with the expectations of US regulatory bodies like the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, as well as other professional organizations that set ethics and conduct standards
  • Lead the design and implementation of robust processes and controls specifically aimed at addressing risks related to product and service quality; this responsibility is executed in alignment with the quality objectives that fall under the remit of the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO)
  • Set and evaluate compliance program standards and establish and maintain firm-wide standards for all compliance programs to ensure effectiveness; this includes regularly assessing existing programs, identifying areas for improvement and reporting on overall compliance risks within the firms broader risk management framework to ensure a holistic view of risk
  • Lead internal control design and testing and hold direct responsibility for overseeing the design of internal controls and managing the comprehensive testing program for all compliance activities conducted by the Ethics and Compliance (E&C) function, ensuring their operational effectiveness and reliability
  • Lead assessments to evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of compliance programs, while also collaborating with front-line teams to ensure risks are properly identified and mitigated; develop monitoring plans, test internal controls and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and ensure ongoing compliance with both internal standards and external regulations
  • Support the CECO by delivering regular, insightful reports to senior management and the board of directors; responsible for the strategic advancement and continuous improvement of the E&C program, while fostering alignment with key stakeholders across the U.S. member firm and its global affiliates; serve as the firms subject matter expert and trusted advisor on all matters related to compliance governance and monitoring
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in compliance, risk management, legal, or related fields, preferably within a professional services or regulated industry
  • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Proven track record in designing and leading enterprise-wide compliance programs and governance frameworks
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management principles and compliance monitoring methodologies
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and present actionable insights to senior executives
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
