Data Center Fiber Optic Cable Techs Fayetteville, GA Pay From: $30.00 per hour MUST: Experienced Data Center Fiber Optic Cable Techs Must work under and comply with IBEW Local 613 requirements 3+ years splicing and testing fiber for Zayo or other dark-fiber carriers Experience working with high-count fusion splicing (864ct-3456ct) on Fujikura machines Experience working with OTDR/OLTS testing with EXFO equipment Experience producing Fast Reporter testing documentation Proven mid-sheath splicing experience Demonstrated ability to splice live fiber networks Strong troubleshooting skills for active fiber networks Experience pulling fiber for installations Cabinet bolting, basket tray installation, and scissor lift experience is preferred Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical field work Ability to work indoors/outdoors and stand for long periods DUTIES: Perform fusion splicing on high-count fiber optic cables (864ct, 1728ct, 3456ct) with precision Complete mid-sheath (ring-cut) splicing on high-count fiber Splice live/active fiber during maintenance windows with minimal disruption Install fiber optic cable in underground, aerial, and indoor environments Pull fiber through conduits, ducts, and trays Perform OTDR and OLTS testing to verify fiber performance and integrity Troubleshoot and repair active fiber network issues Generate splice and test documentation using Fast Reporter software Operate Fujikura fusion splicing equipment for low-loss splicing Use EXFO testing equipment for OTDR/OLTS testing Assist with cabinet bolting Install basket trays for cable management Operate scissor lifts for elevated work Follow OSHA, NTI, and union safety practices Maintain clean and organized work environments Complete all project and client documentation accurately Work indoors/outdoors in various weather conditions Stand 8-10 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
