The Opportunity:

Mattel is searching for a technology leader with an immense passion for delivering business value in the form of process simplification and modernization enabled by technology data and program management.

The Director of Global Supply Chain is a key technology partner to Mattel's Supply chain Planning Leadership - SVPs/VPs/Sr. Directors of Planning (demand, supply, S&OP, allocation and Supply chain Analytics), and the global supply chain organization. This role will lead innovation, project management, systems development and implementation, and support of all technology that enables these areas. The business functions supported by this key leader includes demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, allocation planning, and supply chain analytics. This role requires experience in a best of breed enterprise software environment with an emphasis on managing complex integration.

This leader will have excellent domain experience in these areas as well as a proven success record of delivering business value and organizational transformation in a matrixed IT environment with reliance on offshore delivery partners. They will bring a wealth of experience in developing and delivering modern technology solutions, excellent vendor management skill, and have a proven track record of modernizing and transforming technology capabilities aligned to business process transformation.

Supporting the supply chain teams requires in depth knowledge of best practices in demand planning, supply planning, MRP, purchasing, inventory management, distribution planning, allocation planning, S&OP and supply chain postponement in a global organization. This leader must partner with the business to create best in class reporting tools including dashboards, interactive data visualizations, standard analyses, balances scorecards, and user-friendly ad hoc reporting driving data-driven decision making throughout the organization.

This position will report directly to Mattel's Global Supply Chain Technology VP or Senior Director and will be a key member of the Global Technology Organization's leadership team. This leader is a key contributor to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy, while maintaining its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

Remote candidates are required to travel 50% (every other week to corporate and other facilities as required). Relocation to Corporate in El Segundo, CA is preferred. For local candidates or ones close to other Mattel locations, onsite presence is needed when local.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Lead the Global Technology Organization (GTO) team that is responsible for delivering technology solutions for our Global Supply Chain Planning organization.
  • Work with the CTO, Senior IT Leadership team, Enterprise Architecture and GSC Leadership Team to develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for Global Supply Chain Planning that supports business strategies and priorities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor while building and maintaining relationships with business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs; innovate on and identify opportunities and educate the business where modern technology solutions can add value or achieve stated goals.
  • Work with our PMO to develop and oversee the annual budget for Planning Development. Accountable for budgets covering OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Ensure that all Project/Delivery Managers working on your portfolios have the correct resources to deliver their plans and that escalations on resources are supported/facilitated.
  • Provide functional and technical leadership and hands on day-to-day solution to agile teams in implementation of solutions.
  • Ensure that all the Business Analysts and scrum masters are sufficiently trained and working toward the goals of the Mattel brands.
  • Manage and grow the IT Business Analyst, scrum master teams and ensure all follow the BA best practices.
  • Participate in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.
  • Accountable for managing the technical delivery of Global Supply Chain solutions including analysis, design, development, implementation, and Tier 3 production support which is heavy reliant on outsourced delivery partners.
  • Responsible for being the overall authority on development and delivery of Global Supply Chain platforms.
  • Build an effective organization that can deliver, support and exploit transition to best in suite technologies for Global Supply Chain capabilities.
  • Effectively build strategic partnerships with Mattel sourcing suppliers to execute with excellence on technical solutions and leverage the partnerships to drive innovation and bring thought leadership to Mattel.
  • Ensure the relationship between IT and Business teams is open, trusted and effective in understanding all perspectives and how best to work collaboratively

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: 10+ years of IT and technology experience including a minimum of 8 years of IT leadership and strong people management experience in areas of responsibility and in similar roles (broad-based, senior level) within a comparably sized company.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or Finance or Supply Chain related and related experience or Masters degree/MBA and related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organization design and development.
  • Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments.
  • Excellent leadership skills - lead, collaborate, facilitate, and negotiate as necessary.
  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines at senior levels to influence, instill confidence and effect change to achieve common goals and demonstrate the business value of IT.
  • Experience with Blue Yonder ESP or similar, Anaplan, COGNOS, Tableau
  • Experience with Data platform and analytical tools
  • Proven experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, S&OP, Allocation Planning and Supply Chain Analytics supporting consumer products with Omni-channel distribution including B2B, e-commerce, and retail.
