Reports to: Facilities Manager

Salary range: $ 22 to $ 25 per hour

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor for our Shields Manufacturing facility in Tualatin Oregon. (On-site position)

Summary:

Under limited supervision, working in a machine shop environment, complete preventive maintenance tasks on all machines and support equipment, to include the maintenance of facilities equipment and systems. Document work completed and provide input for cost savings and improvements.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance, ensuring all equipment is functioning as required. Follow established maintenance schedules, maintain accurate PM records to account for work performance and repair on a day-to-day basis.
  • Make sure machine coolant is running at the right percentage and that spindle coolant pressure is correct. Make sure coolant sumps are cleaned on a regular basis and that oil skimmers are working correctly.
  • Add oils and lubricants to the machine using shop manuals for correct lube types and quantities.
  • Make sure oils and coolants are stocked for machine use and notify facilities team for reorders.
  • Monitor and maintain RO (reverse osmosis) water system.
  • Replace light bulbs as needed.
  • Operate hand and air tools for repairs, operate forklift and scissor lift as required.
  • Ensure documentation, including certifications, work orders, process sheets, PM sheets, machine logs etc. are kept in order and filled out completely.
  • Maintain safe work environment conditions by observing employee practices and correcting them when necessary.

Secondary Duties (as needed):

  • Help in processing and on machines as needed to get parts completed on time including, but not limited to, graining, hardware installation, masking, deburring, and cleaning.
  • Assist Shop Floor Control with tasks, such as cutting material and overall facility care and maintenance.
  • Assist Receiving and Materials Management with tasks such as: loading and unloading material; collecting scrap material for recycling.
  • Assist in inventory cycle counts.
  • Assist with packaging of customer orders.
  • Deliver and pick up of parts and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic math or industrial mathematics desired.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Vocational training in a mechanical trade (preferred)- relevant work experience may substitute for vocational training.

Work Setting

  • A machining environment with frequent noise in an indoor seasonally air-conditioned and heated environment. Combination of standing/sitting for extended periods; fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear protection) may be required. May operate moving equipment (forklift) as required to perform essential job functions.
