GENERAL FUNCTION

Lead a team of process techs to ensure injection molding machines and automation equipment run to quality standards in order to meet department goals. Work with production, engineering and technical support to maximize machine uptime for injection molding machines and automation equipment in order to maintain quality standards and achieve production goals. Assure all safety and housekeeping procedures are followed. Communicate potential hazards as well as reporting all quality and scrap issues to supervisor/manager in a timely manner.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Support production supervisor with coordinating resources to maximize uptime in order to meet department goals
  • Ensure daily PM schedule is executed according to schedule
  • Lead the efforts to maintain cleanliness of equipment and production floor, to ensure a safe work environment
  • Confirm that MES system is properly being utilized by process tech team to capture real time data
  • On-time performance of production cell start-up to meet department goals
  • On-time performance of mold and/or material changes by pulling tools from storage racks and setting/removing tools from the molding machine as dictated by the schedule
  • Organize the team to have mold or color changes completed in a timely manner according to the KPIs established for each process.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct part inspections, as well as various other functions to maintain quality standards
  • Provide support to other process technicians regarding monitoring and preparation of support equipment i.e. thermolators, dryers, robots and other fixtures
  • Support and troubleshoot in the diagnostics needed to maintain, repair/replace and test automation systems, components and networks
  • Program and perform mold set ups, start-ups, troubleshooting, moisture content inspection, laser printing set-up, Sepro robots and other auxiliary equipment on conventional and dual injection molding machines



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Associates of Applied Science degree or certificate in scientific injection molding or industrial automation, robotics, PLC, preferred
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience working in the plastic injection molding industry as a Process Technician
  • Minimum of 2 years of programming and troubleshooting multi-axis robot and/or multi-axis robots
  • RJG training
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate in English language to ensure adherence to documented procedures and current specifications is essential.
  • Familiarity with automation applications in an injection molding or plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in various instruments and hand tools
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in various instruments and hand tools



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Experience utilizing a computer terminal or personal computer
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with injection molding in a production environment preferred
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost effectiveness, and other techniques to ensure efficient production of quality products.
  • Knowledge of Arburg touch screen injection molding machines
  • Experience with dual injection molding machines
  • Experience with programing Sepro and Yumi Robots


Pay Range: 29.26-42.48

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
