POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Dr. Sarah Valentine, theCommunity Health Worker (CHW)will supportanNIMH-fundedstudy entitled, "Stepped Care for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Study" (STEPPS) which aims to develop a stepped care treatment model forposttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)atBostonMedical Center. The CHW willbe responsible forprovidingtelehealthcoaching for a briefonline PTSD treatmentprogram, called web-administeredSkills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (webSTAIR).WebSTAIReducatespatients about trauma and related mental healthsymptoms, andteachespatientsskills to managetheiremotions and improverelationships.ThewebSTAIRprogram will be provided in English and Spanish. The CHW will receive training in motivational interviewing, cognitive and behavioral techniques, andapproachestoenhance engagement in treatment programs. CHWswill receivereceiveongoingcaseconsultationon coaching visitsfrom Dr. MaryleneCloitre, the psychologist who developedwebSTAIRand a leading expert in the field. CHWs will also receiveprofessional developmentsupport from a CHW supervisor/expertoutside of the study which willprovidean opportunity for the CHW to reflect on their experience with providing trauma focused mental healthsupportsand connect with other CHWs. This is a hybrid position. TheCHWwill mostly work remotely but may occasionally work on-site toassistwith in-person research activities andcoordination. Generallythe work schedule will be Monday throughFridaythough some evenings and weekends may be required depending on specific patient needs. This position is grant funded through 7/31/2030. There may be opportunity beyond this grant funding for position integration into ongoing operations. Compensation Range: $17.07- $23.80This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
