Summary

The Food as Medicine Technician role will encompass being an advocate for Grady Food as Medicine program, designed to help provide additional access to fresh fruits & vegetables for patients of Grady who are food insecure & suffering with chronic diseases. Work with the Food as Medicine team to ensure the amount and type of plant-based food items are available for the participants enrolled in the program. Responsible for the weekly reception, handling & delivery of produce & dry goods in the FAM Pharmacy & coordination of donations as needed. The FAM Tech will schedule patient food pickups daily, and also maintain & update data & tracking documents. Other responsibilities will include assisting the FAM Patient Navigator with the orientation & enrollment of patients to Grady's FAM Program, along with collaborating with other members of the FAM team to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition, Public Health or related field from an accredited institution.

• Experience with food insecure population and/or food pantry management(Preferred)

• ServSafe Certification, or able to obtain this certification within 6 months of placement into position.
