Job Description:

The Job

To design, build, and steward the enterprise's semantic and contextual layer: its knowledge graphs. This serves as the "brains" behind AI agents, content retrieval, conversational assistants, and decision support systems. Your work ensures that all business units work with a unified, consistent, trustworthy layer of knowledge.

You Will:

Ontology & Semantic Modeling

  • Define and maintain enterprise ontologies (e.g. Plan, Benefit, Member, Provider, Condition, Region)
  • Manage relationships, hierarchies, cross-domain consistency

Knowledge Graph / Context Infrastructure

  • Build & maintain knowledge graphs / vector stores / context indexes
  • Author and update retrieval pipelines (RAG) combining structured data + unstructured content

Content & Source Integration

  • Ingest, normalize, and link content from diverse sources (policy docs, PDFs, web, call transcripts)
  • Establish policies for chunking, metadata tagging, versioning, ownership assignment

Conversational & Agent Context Design

  • Design prompt schemas, context windows, fallback logic, confidence thresholds
  • Ensure consistent agent responses across channels (chat, voice, internal tools)

Governance, Trust & Provenance

  • Define update lifecycles, content audit trails, conflict resolution, truth stewardship
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Privacy, and Security teams to ensure that content is auditable and safe

Collaboration & Alignment

  • Work with Data, Engineering, AI/ML, Business Units, and Transformation Partners
  • Ensure semantic definitions align with structured data and business logic

Quality & Metrics

  • Measure coverage, correctness, response consistency, hallucination rate, freshness
  • Establish SLOs / KPIs for knowledge systems supporting AI

Team Leadership / Build-out

  • Convene a virtual team of subject matter experts and content stewards to serve as ontology specialists
  • Mentor, define growth paths, set standards

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Computer science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of related experience
  • Experience in ontology, knowledge graphs, semantic web, or knowledge engineering
  • Familiarity with AI / LLM architecture, retrieval systems, embeddings
  • Ability to work with domain experts (policy, medical, operations)
  • Strong systems thinking, ability to map content, logic, and business needs
  • Knowledge / experience in regulated domains (healthcare, insurance) is a plus
  • Experience in governance / audit / content lifecycle
  • (Optional but useful) Background in NLP, text analysis, entity extraction
