SQL DBA

Location: Houston, TX (Remote + Onsite ~3x/month, The Woodlands / North Houston)
Duration: 3-Month Contract, may extend
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m
W2, must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer. Sub vendors not considered.

Dexian is recruiting for a client seeking a hands-on SQL Database Administrator/Developer to optimize and modernize SQL Server environments as part of a database merge and upgrade to SQL Server 2022. This role blends administration, performance tuning, and development - ideal for someone who thrives in a small, fast-moving technical team.

• Review and optimize SQL Server environments (2019+).
• Analyze and document stored procedures, indexes, and performance bottlenecks.
• Lead a database merge and migration to SQL Server 2022.
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps on automation and CI/CD integration.
• Build a project plan outlining improvements, fixes, and recommendations.

• 5+ years of SQL Server DBA/Developer experience.
• Strong in T-SQL, performance tuning, and stored procedure optimization.
• Experience with AWS (RDS/EC2) and CI/CD tools like CodeBuild or Bitbucket.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Based in Houston or within easy driving distance for onsite collaboration.
