Your Job

Molex is seeking to hire an Associate Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in developing and enhancing advanced connectivity products such as coaxial connectors, antennas, and cable assemblies. In this role, you'll independently design products and create technical drawings and specifications that meet or exceed customer expectations. You'll have the opportunity to develop and implement test procedures, including customer and/or governing specification qualifications, and document results in test reports. You'll also interface with customers and peers in other global Molex locations using in-person visits (travel), email, phone, video chat, etc.

Location: This is a remote role. We are ideally seeking candidates in Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time Zones.

What You Will Do

  • Use independent thinking and judgement to develop new product designs and manage product extensions
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and production
  • Create Test Plans and perform design verification activities using Network Analyzer and other test equipment to ensure that designs meet the specifications of the customer or governing specification
  • Interface with customers on new product development (including on-site travel to the customer's location)
  • Contact suppliers with technical requests (including on-site travel to the supplier's location)
  • Uses risk reduction tools to perform tolerance analysis, Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, and knowledge of material costs and costing processes to determine the impact on various designs
  • Review designs, drawings, and specifications of peers, including but not limited to participation in Design Reviews, Material Review Board, and Customer Complaint meetings
  • Understand, support, and contribute to current Molex MBM Principals, Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR 2+ years experience in a related role
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and solve problems without supervision
  • Strong sense of urgency and ownership to drive actions to closure

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Familiar with solid modeling to generate 3D finite element models
  • RF connector design experience
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes
  • Good understanding of material properties

For this role, we anticipate paying $70,000 - $90,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
