Compensation: $23.00 per hour

A Collections Associate at Pace is responsible for provision of varied administrative support duties related to the collection of delinquent accounts receivables due to the corporation for payment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This list summarizes the core duties and requirements for a Collections Associate. Additional job-related duties may be assigned.

  • Contact clients about past due invoices, duplicate/over/underpayments, and credits; document all contacts in the system.
  • Work with Lab POCs, Project Managers, and Account Executives to resolve missing invoices, billing errors, disputed invoices, or non-responses.
  • Send invoice copies to clients as requested; collect payments and reconcile accounts.
  • Support AR collections for assigned accounts; keep detailed notes in AR system or worksheet on emails, payment status, invoices sent, disputes, and payment discrepancies.
  • Process credit card and ACH payments.
  • Resolve unapplied payments, short balances, and refunds; research and advise AR team on payment application as needed.
  • Enhance department service by suggesting improvements and participating as an active team member.
  • Promote Pace mission through courteous, cooperative interactions with customers and staff, fostering a positive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED; AND two (2) years of collections/financial administrative support experience
  • OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required Knowledge

  • Principles and practices of collections.
  • Principles, practices of financial, and account reconciliations.
  • Administrative practices and procedures, such as business letter writing and the operation of common office equipment.
  • Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
  • Standard business arithmetic, including percentages and decimals.
  • Computer applications and systems related to the collections work.
  • Principles and practices to serving as an effective team member.
  • Methods to communicate with staff, coworkers, and customers to ensure safe, effective and appropriate operations.
  • Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Required Skills

  • Compiling and reviewing financial figures for completeness, accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. * Self-motivated and positive attitude with customers and other employees.
  • Cash collections experience, with strong understanding of collect outstanding.
  • Interpreting, applying and explaining corporate policies and procedures.
  • Using tact, discretion, and initiative within established guidelines.
  • Researching, compiling, and summarizing a variety of informational materials.
  • Composing correspondence and other written independently or from brief instructions.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
  • Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction.
  • Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.
  • Maintaining databases, forms, documents and related informati0n.
