We are currently conducting a search for a full-time Pharmacy Manager to join a growing team of colleagues at our customer site, Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY, to provide outstanding service to patients with complex, specialty diseases to help them achieve improved clinical outcomes.

Pharmacy Location: Located within Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish great working relationships with clinic staff, physicians, and other specialty staff in customer clinics
  • Management, oversight and operation of all aspects within your Outpatient Pharmacy. This includes:
    • Provides compliant and optimal outpatient pharmacy practices that are keen on Patient Safety, Pharmacy Professional Practice, Regulatory Requirements, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Personnel Management, Inventory Management, Financial Profitability, Loss Prevention, Workflow Management
    • Ensures patients are aware of their right to choose a pharmacy
    • Help to educate providers and patients regarding the Health System Pharmacy service offerings
    • Accept inbound calls from patients and sharing in on-call coverage to ensure 24/7 patient support
    • Appropriately address clinical questions and triaging as appropriate. Partnering with providers on medication adherence and medication management
  • Facilitates discussion with both leadership and clinic staff to highlight benefits of the CPS model
  • Assists the site leader with recruiting and training of on-site Pharmacy Liaisons and Pharmacists
  • Maintains all aspects of pharmacy regulatory compliance and accreditation standard

    Oversight Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements best-in-class dispensing and shipping protocols for specialty pharmacy. fulfillment, and other programs as applicable to maximize patient outcomes with the site leader
  • Assesses and develops medication regimens that are also cost-effective and affordable by the patient
  • Collaborates in the development of training materials to help onboard Pharmacists and Pharmacy Liaisons to ensure regulatory standards are met

    Dispensing / regulatory duties
  • Performs order entry of prescriptions into the pharmacy management systems (Dispensing, POS, etc.) and make sure claims are appropriately adjudicated
  • Ensures specialty medications delivery route is appropriate (e.g., by mail, courier or pickup)
  • Maintains own professional and specialized competency through continued education Meets CPS standards in the following areas:
    • Conforms to CPS standards of performance and conduct, including those pertaining to patient rights, so that the best possible customer service and patient care may be provided
    • Utilizes CPS values as the basis for decision-making and to facilitate the mission of CPS and its clients
    • Respects and follows all client policies are procedures
  • Assists in the development and revision of policies and procedures
  • Performs clinical checks on prescriptions for correct dosage, indication, drug interactions, end-organ function, etc.
  • Complies with accreditation, legal and regulatory requirements in all activities
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • A B.S. in Pharmacy or a PharmD and an active pharmacist license in applicable state
  • 2+ years of experience working as a pharmacist
  • 1+ years of experience working in a leadership role in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency in standard workplace software (e.g., MS Office)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the specialty pharmacy industry
  • Proficiency with standard software used in a healthcare setting such as EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Meditech), dispensing systems (e.g., QS1, RX30, Computer Rx)
  • Proven solid organizational skills and attention to detail

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
