Central Research Laboratories (CRL), the Remote Handling business within DESTACO is a key P&L serving the Life Sciences (pharmaceutical, radio-pharmaceutical and bio-containment) and Nuclear market segments. Our products are recognized in the marketplace under the CRL brand.

Position Summary:

The Life Science Product Manager will oversee the strategy, development, and lifecycle of products manufactured for the life sciences industry, including components, instruments, and consumables. This role bridges manufacturing operations with commercial strategy, ensuring products meet customer needs, regulatory requirements, and profitability goals. The Product Manager partners with, operations, quality, engineering, and sales teams to drive product growth and market success.

The Life Science Product Manager reports to the GM, and is located in Red Wing, MN. This position requires minimal travel (10% - 20%). The position requires the ability to communicate across the organization with manufacturing, finance, and product development, in global and virtual teams, and at various levels across the organization.

Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Define product portfolio strategy for life science customers, aligning with company goals.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop product roadmaps with input from engineering and operations.
  • Translate customer needs into product specifications and requirements.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams during the product development.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through product launches, ensuring timely execution and readiness.
  • Work with supply chain and production to ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and scalability.
  • Monitor product margins and partner with operations to implement cost improvements.
  • Support production problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide product training, tools, and support for Sales and Customer Services Teams.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create technical content, product collateral, and promotional campaigns.
  • Engage directly with customers, distributors, and channel partners to gather feedback and support adoption.
  • Track product performance (sales, margins, quality metrics, customer satisfaction).
  • Lead product enhancements, updates, and end-of-life planning.
  • Ensure all products meet regulatory, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Create pricing and pricing strategy based off market and customer requirements.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience of product management, technical product leadership in manufacturing or life science
  • Experience working closely with manufacturing operations, quality systems, and supply chain.
  • Knowledge of ISO, FDA, or other regulatory/quality frameworks for life science or medical products.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft Excel

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to understand life sciences markets
  • Analytical, ability to review and track product performance, costs, and market trends
  • Ability to problem solve and lead others in problem-solving activities
  • Understanding of go-to-market strategies and product positioning
  • Excellent project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in teams maintaining a high level of communication and interaction
  • Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work cross-culturally and cross regionally

Education and Certification Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time
