The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a strategic and technically adept Marketing Technology Manager to lead the development, implementation, and optimization of our marketing technology stack in support of global demand generation, lifecycle marketing, and customer engagement efforts. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Demand Generation & MarTech, this role directly manages a team of Email Marketing Managers, Marketing Automation Specialists, and Coordinators, driving integrated platform strategy, data infrastructure, and campaign automation at scale.

You will play a key role in connecting marketing technology to revenue impact by overseeing platform architecture (Marketo, CDP, CRM), audience strategy, and performance optimization. This position requires strong leadership, platform fluency, project prioritization, and cross-functional coordination with teams in Web, CRM, Content, and Analytics.

This is a full-time, remote position.

What we're looking for

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in digital marketing or marketing automation, including 2+ years managing teams.

  • Advanced hands-on experience with marketing automation tools (ex: Adobe Marketo Engage, CDP platforms, etc.)

  • Experience managing multi-region campaigns, integrations, and operational dependencies.

  • Deep understanding of marketing operations, customer data, and MarTech ecosystems.

  • Excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Comfort working with CRM systems (e.g., SAP C4C, Salesforce) and project management tools (e.g., Adobe Workfront, Asana, Jira).

  • Deep knowledge of email marketing, lead nurturing, segmentation, scoring, and campaign automation.

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Analytical mindset with strong skills in Google Analytics, Excel, and reporting tools (e.g., Google Looker Studio, Power BI, QlikView).

  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and how they affect campaign targeting and data usage.

  • Experience in B2B eCommerce or the life sciences/healthcare industry is a plus.

  • Previous experience working with cross-functional marketing, web, and sales teams.

How you will thrive and create an impact

Team Leadership & Operational Strategy

  • Lead and manage a team of Email Marketing and Marketing Automation professionals, providing coaching, support, and ongoing development.

  • Develop and implement MarTech strategies, identify and assess new technologies, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems

  • Prioritize integrations and resources to ensure timely and accurate campaign execution.

  • Drive operational excellence across the marketing tech stack to ensure the architecture and data flows support business needs

  • Train and support team members on MarTech tools and ensure proper execution and support effective usage

Platform Ownership & System Integrations

  • Own the global marketing automation platform (Adobe Marketo Engage or equivalent) and serve as the primary point of contact for campaign planning and prioritization.

  • Ensure proper data flow, integrity, enrichment, and compliance across CRM, CDP, and other systems to enable effective targeting and personalization.

  • Oversee integrations between marketing tools (e.g., Marketo, CDP, CRM, PIM), ensuring data flow, compliance, and platform alignment.

  • Lead the implementation of technical lead nurturing capabilities and scoring to automate processes and improve conversions

  • Ensure platforms are reaching full adoption potential to improve revenue and business outcomes

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to scope, plan, and implement MarTech enhancements.

Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Oversee the execution of global, digital marketing campaigns requiring automation-including email, web, and social components-ensuring alignment with segmentation, personalization, and lifecycle goals.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop audience-centric campaigns that support lead generation, nurturing, and retention initiatives.

  • Own the marketing automation platform (Marketo) and ensure visibility of scheduled campaigns and integrations across global teams for planning and alignment.

Measurement, Compliance & Optimization

  • Monitor platform and integration performance to ensure campaigns are optimized and properly functioning

  • Partner with Analytics and Insights teams to derive actionable learnings and inform campaign optimization.

  • Identify and implement improvements to marketing automation processes

  • Maintain data compliance standards across marketing systems in accordance with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Define, document, and continuously improve marketing automation processes, campaign frameworks, and workflows.

  • Act as a key contributor to marketing technology decisions, integrations, and future enhancements.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$102,200.00 - $170,300.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
