In the role of Resident Project Representative I, we'll count on you to:
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
- Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor's daily activities and the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials used
- Review construction materials for Contract compliance
- Track quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance
- Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings
- Conduct observations of the installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems
- Identify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until corrected
- Develop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance
- Assist with project audit/closeout
- Work under general supervision of a more-senior Resident Project Representative or Design Project Manager
- Supervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants
- Assist in developing and growing our CM/CE&I in New Mexico
- Assist in developing a list of viable marketing opportunities and clients development plans
- Assist with identifying and pursuing CM/CE&I opportunities locally and regionally
- Participate in strategic planning
- Develop client relationships to support the growth within the market
- Based on current projects and identified CM/CE&I opportunities, develop a hiring and training plan to meet project staffing needs
- Take responsibility for coordination, monitoring and improvement of staff technical competencies to meet client needs
- Participate in delivery of project services to meet client expectations
- Provide oversight and management of construction projects for DOT's, Municipals Agencies, and utilities
- Ensure proper documentation is collected to satisfy client's documentation requirements
- Verify that construction material quality processes are being followed
- Provide direction and support to construction inspectors
- Review contractor invoices and provide recommendations for pavement to client
Write and issue field orders, initiate change proposals for design team review and approval, estimate cost of changes, negotiate costs with contractors, and recommend acceptance to the Project Manager
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering -
5+ years related or equivalent experience including project management experience preferably with NMDOT / ADOT or other municipalities -
NM PE license (AZ if located in Arizona) -
Demonstrated leadership skills -
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must -
Experience with preparing proposals and contracts for public agencies is preferred. -
Proficiency with Microsoft Office. -
Strong oral and written communication skills. -
Ability to mentor and manage staff -
Experience working as part of a team to successfully deliver construction projects, processes and documents. -
Commitment to quality improvement and HDR values.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
- Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
- Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
