Enterprise Architects have a wide set of duties and responsibilities and often span many within a single work day. Primarily, the Enterprise Architect works to establish strategies, architectural future state, reference architecture, and oversees and assesses the level of alignment with the established future state architecture as well as enterprise capabilities, standards, patterns, and principles. The Enterprise Architect also assists with aligning business and enterprise initiatives with technical strategy and serves as advisor to senior leadership. Strategy Development Enterprise Architects function as trusted advisors, influencing business strategy to drive Future State Architecture definition. They translate or map business strategy into information strategy and understand technology product and vendor strategies, products, and customer preferences. They represent the organization's business requirements in a human consumable manner, as it relates to strategy. Establish the Future State Architecture The Future State Architecture establishes a multi-year vision for the technology with actionable plans to realize the vision. The Enterprise Architect is responsible for all or key aspects of defining and shepherding the enterprise through realizing the future state. Define the Reference Architecture The Enterprise Architect defines as well as coordinate Subject Matter Experts in the definition of the Reference Architecture. The Reference Architecture is the collection of enterprise-wide principles, standards, patterns, and practices with which all solutions align. Assess Solutions for Alignment Enterprise Architects serve to assess candidate architecture for alignment with the Future State Architecture and Reference Architecture. Through this aspect of their role, the Enterprise Architect must demonstrate political awareness and a solid understanding of architectural trade-offs. Moreover, the Enterprise Architect must understand risk management and how to express feedback on a candidate architecture in terms of risk. Monitor and Evaluate Technology and Trends Enterprise Architects must maintain a solid understanding of changes in technology; this includes how changes impact other technologies. Additionally, the Enterprise Architect maintains a strong awareness of emerging technology trends and actively assesses the enterprise implications of trends. Focus Area: Core Health Plan Operations This Enterprise Architect must demonstrate a deep understanding of core health plan operations. In partnership with other leaders the Enterprise Architect will oversee a divers portfolio of technology, services, and vendors focused on enrollment, billing, claims, and finance. This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN, Madison, WI, Omaha, NE, or St. Louis, MO. The full salary grade for this position is $127,800 - $219,000. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $127,800 - $191,625. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
