What to Expect

As a Recycling Supervisor, leadership involves guiding, motivating, and coordinating a team to ensure efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible recycling operations. The supervisor demonstrates strong organizational and people management skills, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.


What You'll Do
  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
  • Manages scheduling for internal and external team members, ensuring collaboration across the Gigafactory
  • Leads initiatives to improve recycling efficiency, reduce waste, and support the organization's environmental goals
  • Maintains relationships with external vendors and negotiates commercial rates for scrap materials
  • Provides clear direction to recycling staff, sets daily goals, and inspires team members to achieve productivity and quality standards
  • Monitors staff performance, provides feedback, and takes corrective action when needed to maintain high standards
  • Performs various tasks, including reporting accidents, completing safety training, and running heavy equipment like cardboard bailers

What You'll Bring
  • 2-3 years of recycling, custodial, or grounds maintenance experience
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritization skills; confidence in presenting to upper management; and strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Commitment to excellence in quality work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong work ethic, follow-through skills, and a "can-do" attitude
