Fort Worth, TX - hybrid, 3 days in office

One of Vaco's publicly-traded manufacturing and industrial clients is looking to onboard an FP&A Manager on the operations side of the business due to growth of the company. We previously placed a Controller on the Accounting team earlier this year and we've received great feedback on the work, company culture and leadership.

This role will act as the VP's "right hand person" in dealing with 5 different sites across the platform ($400M division), working closely with each site Controller from an operational perspective, forecasting, analytics (inventory, cost, margin, etc.) and KPIs.

Compensation $125-135K + Bonus

Day-to-Day
  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning for manufacturing and operations functions.
  • Analyze production performance, variances, and cost drivers; provide actionable insights to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Prepare and present monthly operational financial reviews to senior management.
  • Oversee standard cost development, cost rolls, and updates for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, scrap, yield, etc.).
  • Partner with plant leadership to evaluate product costing, inventory valuation, and capital spend.
  • Serve as the finance lead for plant operations, supply chain, procurement, and engineering teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, Lean/Six Sigma projects, and operational excellence programs.
  • Evaluate ROI and financial justification for capital expenditures, process changes, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of operational financial reporting and key performance metrics.
  • Strengthen internal controls across inventory, production reporting, and cost accounting processes.
  • Support internal and external audits related to manufacturing and inventory.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or CPA/CMA preferred.
  • 5-8+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, cost accounting principles, and manufacturing financial processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel or data tools (Power BI, Tableau).

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
