Job Overview

The Senior Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing measurement and analyses towards the impact of cross functional and site merchandising optimizations for Macys.com. You will find ways to allow site merchandising and the broader digital business to make critical data-informed decisions by developing methodology and leading a team of analysts in delivering value add and insightful recommendations. With your comprehensive command of data-analysis tools and techniques, you'll design and guide a team through analyses frameworks, triage site usage impacts and performance, develop data stories with recommendations alongside a dedicated team, and generate automation where appropriate.

Essential Functions

The Senior Manager, Site Analytics responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Collaboration, Analysis, and Leadership:



  • Partner and own accountability to site merchandising and stakeholder teams solving complex problems and proactively identify opportunities to improve the customer experience
  • Provide analytics thought leadership to digital and enterprise partners to improve site merchandising strategy and optimizations
  • Lead and own individual strategic analytics projects along with direct report accountability.
  • Proactively guide direct reports in strategic measurement approach development to identify teaching moments at every opportunity.
  • Expert Adobe Analytics background with the ability to build dashboards and enable stakeholders to make data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate with senior leaders on enterprise initiative teams to provide analytics and insights around current performance and future enhancements
  • Develop ground-up strategy for understanding and monetizing impact of programs designed to increase key performance indicators.
  • Develop and deliver methodology for impact and scenario analysis due to event, site, or technical business changes.
  • Lead administration of Analytics Office Hours on a bi-weekly basis delivering training to cross functional organizations along with direct reports.
  • Own enterprise Adobe trainings and best practices, guiding direct reports in delivery and content development.
  • Develop full suite of analytics dashboards including conducting QA for all work products within dedicated team.
  • Collaborate with site merchandising leadership to create Adobe dashboards and measurement approach leading to automation and reporting efficiencies.
  • Monitor data integrity threats within Adobe data set, reporting potential cases to management teams when appropriate to ensure accuracy of enterprise data.


Qualifications and Competencies



  • B.A. required, Masters in Statistics, Analytics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Consulting, Strategy, or E-commerce/Retail Analytics.
  • Majority of experience in Digital Merchandising, Retail, Product Management or Marketing preferred.
  • Expert in web analytics tools, preferably Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience in SQL, data manipulation a plus.
  • Experience with Tableau or other visualization platforms a plus.
  • Expert in MS Office computer programs are required.
  • Ability to communicate thoughtful data storytelling to senior level leadership and business stakeholders resulting in clear and concise recommendations.
  • Must be able to develop and view complex data for extended periods of time.
  • Able to manage multiple projects as an individual and within a team - can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize time and communicate timeline to team members.
  • Motivated to research and monitor performance data in real time identifying issues as they occur and delegating triage to direct reports.
  • Consistently demonstrate regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
