Manager, Inventory Accounting

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant - Inventory will support all complex general ledger workstreams within the inventory accounting area. The position will be responsible for daily, monthly, and quarterly activities within the workstream to ensure that company books and records are accurate. This position will also be responsible for timely period end closing and accurate financial statement issuance.

This position is located at our Bala Cynwyd office, working a hybrid schedule, 3 days onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs complex accounting, analysis and other related duties directly associated with inventory for the organization.
• Prepare and analyze reserves and complex accruals to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Help with improvements ensuring consistent and accurate accounting.
• Reconciles accounts and performs all assigned duties to meet internal and external deadlines related to the close process.
• Assists other departments to ensure accurate coding of invoices.
• Analyzes income statement accounts to ensure that all expenses are recorded timely and that appropriate accruals are set for those payments not processed timely.
• Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations and all associated journal entries as part of month-end ledger close.
• Works with both internal and external auditors as part of SOX compliance and regular audit activities to gather and provide the necessary account information and documents to complete the audits timely.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Works on special projects within the department as assigned.

Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 3 - 5 years of accounting experience is required
• Understanding of GAAP
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
• Experience with SAP is preferred
• Strong general ledger and account reconciliation skills
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to manage large amounts of data
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
