Work Schedule: Full-time

Compensation: $32.41 - $32.41/hr

Tessera is seeking a reliable Motor Pool Dispatcher to coordinate vehicle assignments and driver schedules in support of transportation services. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient movement of freight and passengers by overseeing vehicle logistics, monitoring schedules, and maintaining accurate operational records. The Motor Pool Dispatcher plays a key part in delivering safe, timely, and customer-focused transportation services while supporting mission readiness.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assigns motor vehicles and drivers for transporting freight or passengers based on trip length, purpose, user preferences, and specific freight or passenger requirements.

  • Compiles and maintains lists of available vehicles, along with critical operational data, including mileage, fuel usage, repairs, and other related expenses.

  • Issue keys, record sheets, and driver credentials to ensure secure and accountable vehicle operations.

  • Accurately records time of departure, destination, cargo details, and expected return times for all dispatched vehicles.

  • Monitors and investigates overdue vehicles, taking necessary actions to expedite return or locate missing assets.

  • Issues necessary loading equipment such as hand trucks, dollies, and blankets to drivers as part of the dispatch process.

  • Directs the activities of drivers, assigns helpers when necessary, and provides guidance to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Works closely with vehicle distribution centers and agencies to assign vehicles and coordinate transportation needs.

Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma/GED is required.

  • 3 years' experience in a closely related field.

  • Proven experience in dispatching, transportation logistics, or related fields.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising effectively with customers and team members.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle time-sensitive situations professionally.

  • Proficient in using transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
