Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-Time

Compensation: $27.18 - $27.18/hour

Tessera is seeking a detail-oriented Resource Library Technician to maintain and organize library materials and provide customer support within the Technical Reference Center (TRC) at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers seeking reference materials, maps, and O&M manuals, ensuring resources are properly cataloged, accessible, and maintained. The Resource Library Technician will support both physical and digital collections while contributing to the overall efficiency and professionalism of the TRC.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Acts as a first point of contact for customers seeking reference material, maps, Operation and Maintenance manuals, etc . contained within the Technical Reference Center (TRC).

  • Responsible for the organizational cataloging and filing of hard copy and electronic documents, maps, and archive materials contained within the TRC.

  • Presents in a professional manner with customer service skills.

  • Catalogs, organizes, shelving, and ensures the upkeep of library materials, including books, periodicals, and media.

  • Responsible to communicate to the Production Manger when O&M manuals, plans, and drawings are received from others to be cataloged and filed.

  • Providing basic assistance with library equipment, computers, and digital resources.

  • Is responsible for identifying and reporting issues related to the TRC space, electronic equipment, and supplies necessary for operating, safeguarding, processing, and printing plans and information within the TRC.

  • Responsible for re-filing TRC documents after use to ensure proper accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma/GED required; Associate degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years in Library technology.

  • An equivalent combination of experience and education allowed.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with various customers.

  • The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple requests simultaneously, and maintain accurate records is crucial.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
