Job Summary:

The Plant Manager leads the Youngstown facility with full accountability for operational performance, financial results, and people development. This role requires a visible, hands-on leader with a servant-leadership style, a strong shop-floor presence, and a bias for action. Success is measured by safety, quality, delivery, cost, employee growth, and achievement of financial targets, including EBITDA and Operating Cash Flow (OCF). The Plant Manager ensures compliance with all legal requirements while supporting the Trivium Packaging business plan and long-term strategic objectives.

Job Duties



  • Champion a culture of safety and prioritize employee well-being in all plant operations, ensuring a safe, healthy, and supportive work environment for all team members.
  • Deliver plant financial targets, including EBITDA and OCF.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and CAPEX planning, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely business reporting, including monthly operations reports and KPI target setting.
  • Work with the plant controller and managers to evaluate objectives, operating costs, and project management status. Adjust plans based on variances and communicate results across the organization.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees, fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability.
  • Optimize the organizational reporting structure to strengthen the business.
  • Partner with HR on labor activities, including employee onboarding, training, and resolving workforce issues.
  • Model servant leadership by prioritizing team needs, building trust, and engagement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, quality, and delivery.
  • Oversee maintenance programs, including preventive maintenance and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) management, to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Strong commercial acumen as the face of the business, identifying and pursuing opportunities to enhance growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a key customer contact, maintaining strong relationships, delivering world-class products, managing on-time delivery, and resolving issues.
  • Ensure support for customer initiatives, product trials, and new business opportunities.
  • Utilize supply chain experience to optimize operational performance, including inventory management, production scheduling, procurement coordination, and delivery commitments. Collaborate closely with supply chain teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations that support business goals and customer requirements.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related business or technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years senior manufacturing management experience with direct P&L responsibility in a large, high-volume manufacturing facility.
  • Transformational leadership experience managing in a self-directed work team environment.
  • Proven experience in budget management, driving efficiencies, and cost reduction.
  • Must possess strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.
  • Excellent management/leadership aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.

The noise level in the work environment is usually deafening outside of the office area. Employees must wear hearing protection and all other assigned Personal Protective Equipment. Temperature can range from extreme cold (<40 degrees) to extreme heat (>90 degrees). The atmosphere contains fumes, dust, and odors.
